The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation was established in June, 1984, by Marie Walsh Sharpe, the culmination of her long-held dream of providing financial assistance to the very gifted in the visual arts.  Mrs. Sharpe charged the Foundation with providing supplemental instruction to art students, through workshops and seminars, beyond that offered in the secondary schools.  She also directed the Foundation to offer assistance to gifted individual artists.
